Welcome 2010. Let me embrace all you have to offer.

It is the new year, at least according to the culture and country in which I was raised. A time of looking backward and looking forward, of reflecting and anticipating.  A new word. Bringing new energy into my life.

Last year, I followed the lead of Caroline at Nowordz Photography and chose a word that I would focus on for the year.  I chose “receive.”  And receive, I have!  In the past year, I’ve received my dream job, doing work I love for an organization I believe in. I have received love and support from those around me – family and friends, near and far, virtual and IRL (in real life).  I have received opportunities to look deeper into myself and find wellsprings of strength. I have received my dream home. I have received the gift of 365 new beginnings with new opportunities to learn, grow, love, and live.

I’ve been contemplating my word for 2010 and what came to me this morning is “embrace.”  I’m a little scared because, what if I don’t want to embrace what the year brings? What if it isn’t all good? What if? What if? What if? What if it’s ALL good? Then what???

If you have been tracking this little blog for the past 3 years, you know that I firmly believe that thoughts become things and we can choose the good ones.  I can choose what I think and how I feel. Most days, I choose gratitude for everything I have received. I can embrace everything in 2010, because it is all good.

All is well. Life is good.
